George William Martin, Jr., 81, of North Fort Myers, died June 8, 1998. He was born in Cornwall, NY. on March 9, 1917. The son of George W. Martin and Louise Norvell Martin of Savilton, NY. in the town of Newburgh. He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and worked for the Hudson Rug Company and at EI Dupont and Stauffer Chemical Companies as a Chemical Technologist. He was a past member of the Wallkill Central School Board and a founding charter member of the Storm King Chapter of the United States Power Squadron in Newburgh, NY. He was a member of the St. Andrews Bay United States Power Squadron. He is survived by his wife, Rose Langlitz Martin of North Fort Myers, FL., and two daughters: Carole Mullins of Charlotte, NC. and Donna Martin of North Fort Myers as well as grandchildren: Susan A. Mullins of Charlotte, NC. and Patrick A. Mullins of Smyrna, GA. Visitation will be held at Coloni Funeral Home, New Windsor, NY. on Thursday, June 11, from 7 - 9 p.m. and interment will be in The Modena Rural Cemetery following the funeral service at Coloni Funeral Home at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 12. A private viewing was be held for family and friends on Tuesday, June 9, at 2 p.m. at the North Fort Myers Memorial Funeral Home. North Fort Myers Memorial Funeral Home 3453 Hancock Bridge Pwky N.W.
