Archie Francic Mauldin - Class of 1966

  Archie Francic Mauldin (Makie), son of the late Luvenia "Vennie" Mauldin and Archie McMillian, died Monday, June 21, 2010 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh Campus. Archie was born February 9, 1948 in Newburgh, NY. He attended school at St. Patrick's and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1966. He worked as a cook for St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh and attended SUNY New Paltz and Mount St. Mary's College. His passion for youth led him to a career path at McQuade Group Home New York State Division of Youth, Mount St. Mary's College and Newburgh Enlarged City School District. North Junior High School was his favorite. Archie was loved and admired by faculty, parents and students. He had a zest for culture, music, travel, sports and people. Survivors include his brother, Edison and Josephine Mauldin of Newburgh, Gwendolyn Hil of Richmond, VA, Rodney Folk of Middletown, Angela Mauldin of Newburgh, Jacqualine Mauldin of Mount Vernon, NY, Alyce Mauldin of Newburgh; godfather, Leo Folk of Brooklyn; two nieces, three nephews, three great-nieces, one great nephew and a host of cousins, relatives and friends; special friends: Sandra Bazemore, Diane Kartis, Leroy Parsons and Ruth Stevens. He was predeceased by his brother, James McMillian. Visitation will be held Tuesday, June 29, from 5-7 p.m., at Baptist Temple Church, 9-11 William St., Newburgh. Services will be held 7 p.m., Tuesday, June 29, at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor. Arrangements by Brutus W.
