Gail Suzanne Dabrusin Gallagher, a Registered Nurse and a lifelong resident of the Town of Newburgh, died November 26, 2005 at home. The daughter of the late Harry and Betty Dabrusin, she was born December 31, 1938 in Newburgh, N.Y. Gail passed away after a short illness surrounded by her family. She was 66 years young. Gail graduated from NFA in 1956. She continued her education and became a Registered Nurse. She is a 1961 graduate (alumni) of the St. Luke's Hospital School of Nursing. Prior to her beginning her nursing career, she worked as a secretary at Steinfields in Newburgh and the PX at Stewart Field. She was also an active member of the Town of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Corps for many years, holding many positions. Gail worked at both Cornwall Hospital and St. Luke's Hospital. Her home health aide training course had also been approved by the NYS Health Department. Gail enjoyed traveling to Las Vegas, Florida and Maine. She also loved camping and "tolerated" snowmobiling in Upstate New York with her children. She was admired, loved and respected by all who knew her and will be forever missed. Her motto in life was, "I pass through this world but once. If there is any good I can do, and kindness I can show to any human being, let me do it now. Let me not defer nor neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."
