Donald DeLong, age 91, of Indianapolis, passed away Friday, February 28, 2020.
He was born on Monday, March 26, 1928 in Newburgh, New York to George and
Florence DeLong. He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in New York, and earned
a bachelors degree at Courtland State College. Don was a veteran of the United
States Navy, serving in World War II and the Korean Conflict, going on to own
and operate Time Masters Clock Shop for fourteen years. He was “an original”,
and known as a jokester, but his real passion was his family, who he loved to
spend his time with. Don is survived by his wife: Sally Jo DeLong of
Indianapolis; children: Chris (Deb) DeLong of Greenwood, Marc (Lise) DeLong of
Henderson, Nevada, and Jody (Greg) Curran of Avon; grandchildren: Lindsey,
Christine, Blair, Elizabeth, Joseph, Dallas, Brooke, Cory, Cole, and Trevor; as
well as fourteen great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents:
George and Florence DeLong; siblings: Robert DeLong, Lucy Minott, and Edie
DeLong; and grandchild: Aubrey. A visitation will take place on Wednesday, March
4, 2020 from 2:00 p.m. until the time of memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at
Simplicity Funeral & Cremation Care, 7520 Madison Ave., Indianapolis, IN. 46227.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial donation in Don’s name may be made to a charity
of your choosing. Arrangements are in the care of Simplicity Funeral & Cremation
