William A. Smith - Class of 1953

    William A. Smith, 84, entered into rest surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, March 3, 2020. Born in New Windsor, he was the son of the late Franklin and Margaret (Radulski) Smith. Bill proudly served in the US Army as Master Sergeant during the Korean War. He was a life member of the Disabled American Veterans Post 152 and the Walden VFW. Bill enjoyed participating in parades, going to casinos, and fishing. He will be dearly missed. Bill is survived by his children: Starlin Mott and husband Danny of Florida, Angela Conklin and husband Sylvanus Sr. of Highland, Timothy Smith and wife Edith of Gardiner, and William Smith Jr.; 5 stepchildren of Michigan; his sister, Eleanore Rodney of Endicott, NY; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his parents he was predeceased by his wife, Bonnie Smith, and three sisters. Visitation will be held from 1-3 p.m. on Saturday, March 7 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Wallkill Valley Cemetery, Walden.
