Rita A. Barbero Boyd, 79, of Roseville, CA, formerly of Newburgh, NY passed away
on November 28, 2010. Born February 9, 1931 in Newburgh, she was the daughter of
late Pierina and James Barbero. She was the youngest of eight children. She
graduated from Columbia University with a degree in nursing. She was a
Registered Nurse at West Point. On August 2, 1959, she married Alvin L. Boyd at
St. Mary’s Church in Newburgh. Survivors include her husband, Alvin Boyd; her
daughter, Annette Barnes of Roseville, CA; two sons, Robert Boyd of Martinez,
CA, and Charles Boyd of Roseville, CA; seven grandchildren and three
great-grandchildren. She is also survived by three siblings: John J. Barbero,
Margaret Filiberti, and Gloria Crisci of Newburgh. She was predeceased by her
sister, Ida Terracino, and her brothers: Frederick, Harold, and J. Joseph
Barbero. Services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, December 7, at St. Clare
Catholic Church in Roseville. Published in Sacramento Bee on December 7, 2010.
