Robert E. Gerow, Jr., a lifelong Newburgh resident entered into rest on Wednesday, June 17, 2020. He was 75. Son of the late Robert E. Gerow, Sr. and Edith (Tompkins), he was born on July 23, 1944 in Newburgh, NY. "Bob" as he was know to friends and family was a retired partsman with Mack Truck, first in Poughkeepsie and later in Newburgh. He was a member of the Grace United Methodist Church, where he met his wife Joan, when she was eleven years old. Bob was also a member of the former Orange Lake Sportsman Club and loved to hunt, fish and take camping trips with his family. Survivors include his beloved wife of 53 years, Joan; a son, Shawn (Sandra) Gerow of Wallkill; one granddaughter, Alison Gerow; an uncle, Fredrick Gerow of Texas and cousins David and Carol Mac Nary of Gardiner and Linda Tompkins of Newburgh. Visitation and Funeral Service will be private, with burial to follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bob's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital at www.stjude.org
