Linda Levy Butler, 79, of Seminole, Florida passed away on Friday, June 5th, 2020. She was born in Newburgh, NY on November 24, 1940, and settled in Seminole with her family in 1980. Linda married the love of her life, Norman Butler, in January of 1961. They were married for 48 years until Norman passed away in 2009. Together, they had 4 children - Sherri, Brian, Randy, and Kim. They were also blessed with 10 grandchildren - Bethany, Dustin, Bayleigh, Zachary, Brayden, Caleb, Carter, Brody, Gabby, and Blake to which Linda was known as Nanny. Linda is survived by a sister, Phyllis Spoto and is predeceased by a brother, Herbert Levy. Linda went to college after staying home and raising her children for many years and dedicated her professional life to helping others. She earned her BSN degree in Nursing and her Master's degree in Health Care Administration. She thrived in her career as a nurse and administrator with Eckerd, American Red Cross, Largo Medical Center, Olsten Health Management, Northside Hospital Pain Institute, and Brookdale Senior Living. In her spare time, Linda enjoyed spending time with her family traveling, cruising, volunteering at her church & various other organizations, and soaking in time with her grandchildren. Her travels included Alaska, Hawaii, Las Vegas, the Jersey Shore, and Lake Placid, NY. Linda was known in the community for being involved with the American Red Cross, the Hurricanes and Healthcare Conference and the Governor's Hurricane Conference. She was a long-standing member of Oakhurst United Methodist Church for forty years, and she adored her church family; especially her time spent as an Usher, Sunday School teacher, and Grief Share group leader. Linda's kindness, generosity and loving spirit will live on in the precious memories of her, and in those she loved. Visitation will be held at Serenity Funeral Home on Thursday, June 18th, 2020 from 4-8 p.m., and she will be laid to rest with Norman the following day at a private family service. Her family plans to hold a larger Celebration of Life ceremony at Oakhurst United Methodist Church at a later date.
