Alan Drobner - Class of 1966

Alan L. Drobner, 72, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, N.Y., died Dec. 3, 2020,
in Newburgh. Born Feb. 2, 1948, in Newburgh, he was the son of Alexander and
Eleanor (Peggy) Drobner. Alan graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and enlisted
in the U.S. Air Force, serving in Vietnam. Following his discharge, he was
self-employed with his father at Drobner's department store on Broadway in
Newburgh. Alan was an avid fisherman, and enjoyed spending time at Washington
Lake and Brown's Pond. He also enjoyed bowling, horse racing, sharing stories
about life in Newburgh, and spending time with family and friends. Alan is
survived by Carole Tarsio, his companion of 40 years; his daughter Nicole Made
and her husband Victor, with their children Nicholas and Natalie; Paul Lander
and his children Paul Jr. and Maddie; Eric and Lorraine Lander and their son
Daniel, and daughter Allison Whitehead and her husband Ross Whitehead and their
daughter Lily Marie. He is predeceased by his parents. Viewing will be private
at the request of the family. Burial will be at Veterans Memorial Cemetery in
Goshen, N.Y., at a future date. - February 2, 1948 - December 3, 2020
