Edith Delores Parrella Moriello entered into Heaven on December 10, 2020 after passing peacefully at home at the age of 104 years old. Edith was born on Carter St. in the City of Newburgh on January 23, 1916. The daughter of Stephen and €œJenny€ Parrella, she married Camillo €œCharles€ Moriello in 1935 who died in 1961. Edith was a wonderful cook and homemaker to her husband and three children. She was fond of opera and was a talented soprano and soloist at Sacred Heart Church for many years. Sadly, she would lose her granddaughter Michelle Moriello in 1996 then her youngest daughter Camille Moriello in 2017. She was also predeceased by her brothers Nicholas and Joe Parrella, sisters Emma Bower and Betty Mans, and daughter-in-law Joan Moriello. She is survived by her son Anthony Charles Moriello, daughter Barbara and her husband Dr. Anthony Attalienti; grandsons Greg and Mark Attalienti and Matthew Moriello; granddaughter Mia DeMatteis and her husband Scott; as well as her great-grandchildren Michael, Kristina and Matthew DeMatteis, and Amy and April Attalienti. In keeping with Edith's wishes, there will be no visitation. Because of this, the family asks for donations be made to Hospice of Orange and Sullivan counties in lieu of flowers. A funeral Mass will be celebrated by family at St. Francis Church on Benkard Ave. in the City of Newburgh on December 12. In keeping with current healthcare guidelines, after interment at Calvary Cemetery there will not be a reception.
