    Elizabeth Cathcart Santoro of Cornwall on Hudson NY, passed away on December 15, 2020 at Wingate Nursing Home in Beacon NY. She was 98 years old. She was born to parents James and Elizabeth Cathcart of Newburgh NY on August 7, 1922. A many year resident of Cornwall on Hudson, she started and ended her career as a NY Telephone operator culminating with her retirement from the Newburgh NY office in the late 1970s. She is the widow of Benjamin Santoro who predeceased her in 1985. She was also the sister of the late Josephine Platania. She is survived by her daughter, Adair Santoro and granddaughter, Selenna Santoro of Cornwall on Hudson, Anthony Santoro and daughter in law, Joyce Santoro of Dunedin FL, and many nieces and nephews. She was actively involved with St. Thomas of Canterbury Church, Catholic Daughters of America Court Rita, and The NY Telephone Pioneers. The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Wingate Beacon for their dedication and outstanding care for the past six years. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m., Monday, December 21 at St. Thomas of Canterbury Catholic Church in Cornwall on Hudson NY. Burial will be immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery in Montgomery NY. As there is no visitation, the family will plan a memorial for next summer. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Association or St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Anthony V.
