Monica DiNitto Babcock - Class of 1980

      Monica M. DiNitto Babcock 58, of Saugerties, NY passed away unexpectedly at her home on Dec 31, 2020. Monica was born and raised in Newburgh, on Sept. 8, 1962, to Andrew and Bernadette Di Nitto. Monica graduated from Mt. St. Mary College, with a bachelor's degree, majoring in Social Sciences and a minor in Business Administration. Her career started at the Dept. of Social Services as Case worker in Newburgh and then for many years as an Educational Development Manager for Orange Ulster Boces. Monica had a passion and determination to help people and was a great advocate for family and friends in need, long after her career ended. As was in the family blood, she also owned and operated a thrift store in Saugerties called Little Treasures. Monica is survived by her two children; Victoria DiVieste, 24 of Glen Aubrey, NY and Daniel Babcock, 19, at home in Saugerties; sister Andrea Di Nitto of Newburgh, NY; brother Andrew Di Nitto (his wife Keri and their children Alyssa and Andrew (AJ) of Saugerties, NY, nephews Anthony Cosman and Angelo Canallo (his girlfriend Andrea Clavio and their daughter Raina) and her two precious cats Peanut and Little Girl (Tommy). Monica was predeceased by her Mother and Father; sisters Peg Cosman and Joan Canallo; all of Newburgh. A celebration of life service will be held Sat, Jan 9th, 2-5 at Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, NY. - September 18, 1962  -  December 31, 2020
