Robert E. Nelson of the Town of Newburgh entered into the presence of God on Saturday January 2nd 2021. He was 60. Son of the late Andrew and Marianna (Rhode) Nelson, He was born on August 29th 1960 in Newburgh NY. Robert "Bob" as he was known to friends and family was retired maintenance and grounds keeper for the Newburgh Enlarged City School District. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He always had a passion for small engines, and after retiring he spent time doing repairs. Robert was also a NASCAR enthusiast and loves all sports, especially football. Survivors include wife Cynthia L. (Malcolm) Nelson. Children include, Sara (Kurt) Miller of Town of Newburgh, Kyle (Angelia) Nelson of Verbank NY, Erick Nelson, Emalee Nelson, both of Town of Newburgh NY. Siblings include James Nelson of Connecticut, Theresa Paeglow of Saratoga Springs NY, Andrew Nelson Jr. of Arizona. Two grandchildren Braelynn and Kurt III; and several nieces and nephews. All services and cremation will be private and at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers donations in Robert's name can be made to Trinity United Methodist Parish, One Owens Road Newburgh, NY 12550.
