David R. Ross January 30, 2021 David R. Ross, 79, of Fayetteville, formerly of Woodland Hills, Calif., passed away on Saturday, January 30, 2021. Born in Port Jervis, NY on January 12, 1942, he was the son of the late Willard and June (Schoonmaker) Ross. He attended Newburgh Free Academy in Newburgh, NY, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving aboard the U.S.S. Nautilus, America's first nuclear powered submarine, and then graduated from Harpur College at the State University of New York at Binghamton, and the College of Law at Syracuse University. He married his first love, Barbara (Bonnie) Feith in 1964 and welcomed their son John David (J.D.) in 1974. After a short stint in private practice at the firm of Canio J. Salese in Beacon, NY, David went on to serve as a prosecutor in the Los Angeles County District Attorney's Office for 30 years, retiring in 2001, shortly after Bonnie's passing from cancer. In 2003, he married Adrian Guidotti and they spent 12 happy years together, until her death in 2015. David will be remembered by his son, J.D. Ross (Valerie); grandchildren, Meghan and Alexander; brother, Ronald Ross (Pamela); brother-in-law, Harold Feith, and sister-in-law, Vana Guidotti (Kevin Wells). In addition to Bonnie and Adrian, he was predeceased by his brother, Willard P. Ross Jr., and sister-in-law, Elaine Feith. A private burial will be held at Peacedale Cemetery in Highland Falls, NY.
