Charles Colvill - Class of 1965

      Charles William Colvill, 74, of Gilpin Township, passed away Thursday, Feb. 4, 2021. He was born July 13, 1946, and was the son of the late Charles (Ida Deyo Casholle) Colvill. Charles was a Navy veteran and a graduate of Newburgh High School in Newburgh, N.Y. He was employed as a baker at Broadway Bakery in New York and also worked in the Paper Mill in Cornwall, N.Y. Charles favorite pastimes were stock car racing with his nephew, Thomas Terry, building model cars and ships, and collecting baseball cards. He loved spending time with his family and his cat, Kidder. Charles is survived by his son, Christopher Colvill; daughter, Kathleen Miller; grandson, Kurt Colvill, all of New York; two brothers, Chester and Edward, of New York; three sisters, Beatrice Terry, of New York, Linda (Robert) Shirley, of Vandergrift, and Barbara (William) Gerhard, of Vegas; ex-wife, Kathleen Freire; niece, Anita Bernard, who was his caretaker for many years; and many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and -nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Elizabeth Colvill; and a brother-in-law, Fred Terry. There will be a celebration of Charles life at a later time.
