Angel Rodriguez - Class of 1978

  Angel Rodriguez of Newburgh, NY, an area resident for 59 years, passed away on Monday, February 15, 2021 at Montefiore St. Luke's Cornwall; he was 61. The son of Angel and Alicia Del Toro Rodriguez, Angel was born on July 20, 1959 in Havana, Cuba. His parents migrated to the U.S. when he was at the tender age of two, where he gained his education. Angel was a mechanical engineer at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital for 35 years. At that very job is where he met the love of his life, Annita Palumbo. Angel and Annita have been married for 32 years, and together they had a beautiful daughter named Breana. Angel had need for speed; he had a fascination with cars and bikes, especially Corvettes and Harleys. Angel also was into 4-wheeling and eventually got his daughter into racing ATVs, where they would spend every weekend at Lembo Lake Race Track from morning til sundown. Angel's hobbies also consisted of socializing with close friends, attending car shows, and watching action packed movies with his wife. On a sunny day Angel would take the hard top off his corvette and go for a long ride, listening to his favorite tunes. Angel could light up a room with his warm smile. He was the definition of a loving and caring family man. Anyway that he could help he would with no hesitation. Angel was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle, and godfather. He was loved by all and will be missed by many, his name will forever be engraved in hearts. Angel is survived by his wife, Annita Palumbo-Rodriguez; his daughter, Breana Rodriguez; sister, Lucy and her husband, Jimmy Trusock of Bethel, CT; mother-in-law, Jean Palumbo; brother-in-law, Anthony Palumbo; sisters-in-law, Antoinette D'Antonio, Gina and her husband, Danny Coyne; aunt, Cruz Rodriguez; cousin, Daniel and his wife, Wanda Rodriguez of Cortland Manor, NY; nieces: Paige Trusock, Nicole Coyne, Alyssa Palumbo; nephews: Andrew Trusock, Matthew Coyne, Fausto Palumbo, and Michael D'Antonio Visitation will be 3 to 8 p.m. on Sunday February 28, 2021 at Hudson Valley Funeral Home, Inc., 239 Quassaick Avenue (Rte 94), New Windsor, NY Due to COVID there is an occupancy limitation which may cause a wait time, please be respectful of your time visiting. Facial covering must be worn in the funeral home at times, and social distancing must be practiced. A funeral Mass will be offered at 11 a.m. Monday March 1, 2021 at Sacred Heart Church Newburgh, NY; burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery New Windsor, NY.
