I had the good fortune to work under George Corwin in the Collegium Musicum Ensemble at the Eastman School of Music. He is one of the conductors that had significant influence on my career as a choral conductor. A tough leader for sure, but with emphasis on attention to the needs of the music at hand. I was saddened to read in a publication from Eastman of his passing. By reading accounts, he certainly made an impact on our profession.
