John Thomas Bugiada Bou-Gee, 71,
of Winter Haven, Florida passed away peacefully at home on February 2, 2021. A native of the Hudson Valley of upstate New York, John retired as a Civil Engineer and in 2007 moved to Florida with his wife of 15 years Marry Clare. John is preceded in death by his parents Michael and Mary Bugiada, his sisters Grace and Lucille, and his brother Felix. He is survived by his wife Marry Clare (Buron Buga) Bugiada and her children and grandchildren; his daughter Gina Bugiada; his daughter Teresa Bugiada Mendoza and her husband Michael Mendoza; grandsons Hugo Michael Mendoza and Miles Hudson Mendoza; and sisters Rose, Annette, Angela, and Marylou. John, also known as Johnny, was the baby of the family and his sisters stepped in to care for him after his mother passed away when he was two years old. John was Class President in high school and made them and his father all proud going away to college at SUNY Albany on a scholarship. In completing a Bachelors in Physics there he became the first in his family to graduate from college. Despite a major hinderance
from a chronic health condition presenting itself after college and never
relenting, with his sisters rising to the occasion again into his early 30s to
care for him he gained the wherewithal needed to build a life for himself and
two daughters he raised. John turned a job in the Highways and Roads department
of the Des wife's son and grandchildren to be on a path to realize the American Dream as his Italian grandparents had. John was a member of Saint Joseph Catholic Church and a Third Degree Knight of its order of the Knights of Columbus. John enjoyed used car shopping, had a deep love of animals, and he put great care into growing in his faith such as through reading.
