Chris McCormack - Class of 1968

          Chris F. McCormack, a lifelong Newburgh resident, entered into rest on Friday, March 5, 2021 at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. He was 72. Son of the late Francis and Genevieve (Zoutis) McCormack, he was born March 30, 1949 in Newburgh, NY. Chris grew up in the town of Newburgh where he attended Newburgh schools and graduated from Newburgh Free Academy, class of 1968. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving from 1969 to 1973. Chris had many talents and could always be found helping out at Tarsio Lanes. For the last few years he was a driver for Uber Car Service. Chris loved to fish, visit the casino’s in Monticello and spend time with all his friends at Tarsio Lanes. Survivors include Nieces and Nephews and many many dear friends. In addition to his parents, Chris was predeceased by a sister, Maureen McCormack. Visitation will take place on Tuesday, March 9, 2021, from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh, NY. A Funeral Service will take place 10:00 am, Wednesday, March 10, 2021 at the Funeral Home. Father William Damroth will officiate. Due to the continued public health concerns, please know that there is an occupancy limitation which may cause a wait time, please be respectful of your time visiting. Facial covering must be worn in the funeral home at all times, and social distancing must be practiced. Burial will follow at Orange County Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Goshen, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris’s name can be made to Wounded Warrior’s at www.woundedwarrorierproject.org
