Richard
J. Pucino of Newburgh, NY entered into rest on Saturday, March 13, 2021 in
Newburgh. He was 74 years old. Richard was the son of the late Joseph and Lucy
Pucino. He was born in Newburgh on May 3, 1946. Richard received a Bachelor's
degree in Art and Education as well as 42 grad school credits. He was a social
studies teacher at North Junior High School in Newburgh for 34 years. Over his
long career he achieved many accomplishments, including the Mid-Hudson social
studies teacher of the year, was included in the book "Who’s Who in American
Education”" and was nominated for Disney's Teacher of the Year. Richard served
as the department chairman for 6 years. Richard is survived by his nephew Max
Andrews, and his grandnephews David and Wesley Andrews. In addition to his
parents he was predeceased by his sister Victoria Jankowski. In lieu of flowers
a donation in Richard's name can be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital. - May
