Joseph James "Joe",
a longtime resident of the area, entered into rest on Saturday, March 13, 2021
at Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall Hospital. Joseph was born in Newburgh on
February 1, 1946, to the late Joseph and Jane James. He is survived by his wife
Ruth Ellen (Schuyler) James, sister Barbara McDaniel and her husband Ed, niece
Letitia Politi and husband Nick and their children. He is also survived by his
wife Ruth’s brothers, sisters and their families. His is also survived by many
lifelong friends. Joseph graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in the class of
1963. He worked for Highland National Bank and Fleet Bank until his retirement.
Joseph was an avid hunter & fisherman and belonged to Jackson Hunting Club and
Bethlehem Rod & Gun Club. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on
Thursday, March 18, 2021 at 12pm at Sacred Heart Church, 25 S Robinson Avenue,
Newburgh, NY. Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery. A U.S. Veteran of
the Army National Guard - February 1, 1946 - March 13, 2021
