Pauline E. Starr
of New Windsor, NY - We regretfully announce the passing of Pauline E. Starr, 93, of New Windsor, NY on April 13. Pauline affectionately called "Nanny" or "Pat" was born to Claudia and Clarence Collins in Port Jervis, NY on June 19, 1927. After graduating from NFA (45) she worked for New York Telephone Co. Pat married Edward (predeceased) and lived in the home built by her husband for over 70 years. Pat was a very generous person who was always there for her family and friends. She remained engaged with family and friends through her final days and had the memory of an elephant. Pat was a dedicated switchboard operator at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh for over 40 years and worked into her late 80s. She loved her job and coworkers became her extended family. She is survived by her daughter Candice (Candy) Berardi of Blauvelt, NY; her grandsons Edward (Holly) and Evan (Jennifer); her most precious great-grandchildren Beth Pauline, Anya Starr, and Luka Simon; a brother Raymond (Sharon) Torraca; sister-in-law Kay (Pat) D'Angelo, and many nieces and nephews. Pat was predeceased by her parents, husband, brother Clarence "Collie", brother and sister in law James "Bud" and Joan Collins, and beloved son in law Fred Berardi. Donations in her name would be deeply appreciated to Deacon Jack Seymour Food Pantry, c/o St. Mother Teresa of Calcutta Parish, 301 Ann St., Newburgh, NY 12550 or Make A Wish Foundation Hudson Valley, 832 South Broadway, Tarrytown, NY 10591.
