Sharon Ann Hawks Gondolfo, 70, of Thornton, CO passed away on Tuesday, April 13th, 2021 at her home in Thornton, CO with her family by her side. Sharon was born on June 30th, 1950 to William and Lois (Halcomb) Hawks in Newburgh, NY. She grew up with two sisters. Sharon spent most of her life in New York and moved to Thornton in 2014 to be closer to family. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy and obtained several certificates from Orange County Community College in the medical field. With this knowledge, she worked at St. Luke's Hospital and administered at-home care to patients. Sharon has four children whom she adored: Michele, Kevin, Kristina, and Tara. Sharon loved her Price Chopper family, where she worked for over 15 years. She retired from Price Chopper in 2014 before moving to Colorado. Sharon had a wonderful sense of humor and was not easily offended. She always had a quick comeback to witty jokes. Her family will remember her clumsiness, feistiness, love of sweets, adoration for all animals, and her strong personality. Sharon loved her animals so much that her phone had more pictures of them than of her family. She enjoyed traveling to Atlantic City, NJ to visit the ocean and casinos and attend bingo games at Foxwoods Casino. Sharon was an avid card player. More than all of these things, Sharon loved her family. She will be dearly missed and remembered lovingly. Sharon is preceded in death by her parents, Bill and Lois, and by her ex-husband Billy Gondolfo. Sharon is survived by her children: Michele (Martin) Spencer of Nyack, NY, Kevin Cannelli of VA, Kristina (Mike) Naclerio of Thornton, CO, and Tara Gondolfo of Thornton, CO; by her sisters: Joyce (Bob) Peterson of Penrose, CO and Barbara (Mike) DiViesti of Honesdale, PA; by her six grandchildren: AJ, Ryan, Alyssa, Adreanna, Evan, and Emma; as well as her two great-grandchildren, Ayanna and Andrew IV. She is also survived by her like-a-daughter/best friend, Kathy Eason; several nieces, nephews and cousins; bird, Rosy; dogs, Blondie and Bear; cats, Summer, Iris, and Sophie; bearded dragon, Lightning; and grand-dog Lily. In lieu of flowers, please donate to the family to help with funeral expenses, either through Venmo, @naclerio2733 or through PayPal, @kristina2733 The family would like to thank Tru Community Care Hospice and Allegiance Home Care for providing in-home support.
