Raymond Earl Weidkam - Class of 1950

    Raymond Earl Weidkam, of (Wallkill) the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Tuesday, April 27, 2021. He was 89. Son of the late August and Louise “Edna” (Owen) Weidkam, he was born on May 13, 1931 in the Town of Newburgh. A lifelong area resident, he was a retired truck driver with Teamster Local 445, Rock Tavern, NY, he proudly served his country in the US Navy. “Pete” as he was known to family and friends held his family dear, especially his grandchildren. He loved to cook, especially BBQ’s and was known for his spanish rice and zucchini bread. Pete also enjoyed taking his wife Katie out dancing. Survivors include his wife Mary K. “Katie” Weidkam; a son, Robert (Marjorie) Weidkam of the Town of Newburgh; stepdaughters, Mary (Bruce) Lake, of Walden, Debra (Mike) VanSchaick, of Clifton Park, NY, and Donna Countryman of Sloansville, NY; grandchildren, Rachel, Gregory and Amanda; step grandchildren, Amy, Ashley, Joshua, Tammy, Craig; great grandchildren, Noelle, Rayanna, Hazel and Mark Jr.; six step great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews; In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Donald Weidkam; two sisters, Barbara Paton and Clare “Dolly” Brune; and a stepson, Thomas D. Jantzen. Private Cremation has taken place at Cedar Hill Crematory.
