Asa R. Cohen, 79 of Palm Coast, passed away April 30, 2021 at AdventHealth Palm Coast. Mr. Cohen was born May l2, 1941 in Newburgh, New York, a son of George and Olive Gritmon Cohen. He worked for Verizon for over 30 years, as a lineman, installer and repairman. After retirement, he and his wife moved to Palm Coast in 1995, and volunteered for the COP. He was a member of the Elks Lodge 2709, the Italian American Social Club of Palm Coast, President of the Shrine Club of Palm Coast, Past Commodore of the Anchor Boat Club, Palm Coast Yacht Club. Mr. Cohen was a Mason, and was known as Very Right Worshipful Asa, and was a Grand Lecturer of the State of New York. He was Past Master of the Sirius Sunshine lodge F & AM 402, and Past Master of Bunnell Masonic Lodge F & AM 200. He and his wife enjoyed boating on their yacht, the AsaLin, making stained glass, growing orchids, cruising and traveling around the world , and doing his daily Sudoku puzzles. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, the former Linda Maria Espino, whom he married July 4, 1971. Two children, Linda (Katrina) Ferguson of Palm Coast, and John Ferguson of Tampa. One granddaughter, Faith "Addie". Three brothers, Bruce (April ) Cohen of Brandon, Brian Cohen of Irvine CA., Gary (Annette) Cohen of Congers NY., One sister, Gale Wogen of Washingtonville NY., Several Nieces and Nephews, Amber Shay and her son Jett, Chelsea Day and daughter Lilly. Stacey, Kristie, Zofia, and Nephew Andrew. Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, George Cohen. Family and friends will be received Friday, May 7, 2021 from ll:OO AM to 2:00 PM at Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road South in Flagler Beach. The Bunnell Masonic Lodge will perform a Masonic senice at 1:30 PM. ln lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Mr. Cohen's name to Shriners Hospital for Children 2900 N.
