Robert VanVoorhis - Class of 1959

    Robert L. VanVoorhis, of Newburgh, NY passed away on Friday, May 7, 2021 at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, Newburgh. He was 78. Robert was born on August 23, 1942 in Bridgeport, CT. He was the son of the late Charles and Elizabeth Lesser VanVoorhis. Robert was a Truck Driver for Ryder Rentals, Montgomery, NY. He was a member of the Army National Guard, the International Brotherhood of Teamsters Local 445, Good Fellowship Dart Ball League. He was an avid gardener and loved to talk. Survivors include his wife Ann Todd VanVoorhis at home, his son Todd VanVoorhis (Susan), his daughters Laurie Clegg (Michael) and Julie Lapinski (Eddie), grandchildren; Ashley VanVoorhis, Cary VanVoorhis, Michael VanVoorhis (Erin), Christine Clegg, Michael Clegg (Kimberly Ortega), Manny Pignetti (MaryKate Barger), Todd Dickel (Lena) and Eric Dickel (Lauren), great grandchildren; Jacob, Taylor, Milania, Gavin, Brielle & Madeleine, his sister in law Beverly VanVoorhis and several nieces and nephews. Robert was predeceased by his sister Elizabeth Jane Miller and his brother C. James VanVoorhis. Graveside services will be held on Wednesday morning at 11am at Woodlawn Cemetery, Union Avenue, New Windsor to which family and friends are invited.
