Virginia Williams Jefferson, 85, of Peoria Heights passed away on Saturday, May 8, 2021. She was born on June 10, 1935, in Newburgh, NY, to Walter and Jennie (Thoby) Williams. She married Joseph James Jefferson on September 18, 1954 in Newburgh, NY. He preceded her in death on October 18, 2008. Also preceding her were her daughter, Lee McVittie; parents; and a great-grandson. She is survived by her children, Kim Boulton, Diane (Steve) Aleshire, Linda Aleshire, Patti (Mike) Skinner, Jennie (Bobby) Streitmiller and Joe (Mandy) Jefferson; 8 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; siblings, Dorothy Rose, Mary Northrip, Walter (Adia) Williams and Daniel (Linda) Williams; and several nieces and nephews. Virginia was employed by the Tradin' Post Classifieds for over 30 years. She enjoyed crosswords, her daily devotional, music and reading, but her greatest joy was her family. She will be remembered as an excellent listener who always supported her children. Cremation has been accorded. Memorial services will be held at a later date.
