Frank Jenkins - Class of 1986

    Frank Michael Jenkins of Newburgh, NY and Astoria, NY passed away at St. Luke's Hospital in Newburgh on May 16, 2021. He was 54. He was born May 10, 1967 in Newburgh, the beloved first born son of Teresa Jenkins and the late Arthur Jenkins. Frank graduated from Newburgh Free Academy then attended Lewis University in Romeoville, Il where he earned his Bachelor's in Business Administration. Frank attended Long Island University in NY where he earned his Master's in Science. Frank then attended St. John's University in NY where he earned his Juris Doctorate in Law. Finally Frank attended George Mason University where he was close to earning his PhD in Computational Biology. Besides being inspired by learning, Frank thrived in several careers. He found success in Corporate Sales in the 1990's. Frank then developed the passion to study Law. Upon getting his law degree from St. John's, Frank practiced Real Estate Law for several years. He then found a yearning for medical research. The desire to be instrumental in curing deadly diseases led Frank to pursue his PhD and he worked in Bioinformatics at the Feinstein Institute of Medical Research in Manhasset, NY. Frank was a US Army ,7th Signal Battalion veteran and proudly served in Operation Iraqi Freedom. Frank was an avid weight lifter and enjoyed mixed martial arts and all types of fitness. He enjoyed helping people. There were countless times Frank selflessly donated his legal services to family, friends and sometimes complete strangers. Frank would be the first one to help a friend or family member in need however he could. Frank enjoyed discussing the subjects he studied and his many life experiences. There were few conversations you would have with Frank without learning something new about the world! Frank adored his family, especially his niece and nephew who he loved encouraging and talking to about education. Surviving are Frank's mother, Teresa Jenkins of Newburgh, brothers, John Jenkins of Milford, Ct. and David Jenkins of New Windsor, NY; his beloved niece and god daughter Lilah, nephew Joey; and several aunts, uncles and cousins both in Naples, Italy and Tampa, Fla. Frank was predeceased by his sister, Glenda Jenkins and his Father, Arthur Jenkins. Friends may visit from 2 to 5pm on Sunday May 23 at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave, Newburgh, NY. A mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, May 24 at 10am at Sacred Heart Church, 301 Ann St, Newburgh, NY followed by burial at Calvary Cemetery in New Windsor. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Frank can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project at www.woundedwarriorproject.org  - May 10, 1967 ~ May 16, 2021
