Thomas "Murph" Murphy Sr. of Maybrook, NY passed away Thursday, May 27 at Garnett Health Medical Center. He was 60 years old. The son of the late Shirley Murphy-Scott & William Frances Murphy. Thomas graduated from Newburgh Free Academy. He worked as a P&D Driver for Yellow Freight for over 25 years. He liked laughing and interacting with customers. He loved to be outdoors. His all time favorite was cutting, piling & selling firewood on weekends and landscaping. He also really enjoyed spending the weekends with his grandchildren, laughing and talking in funny voices to them. Thank you to all that have loved and laughed with our father. He will be missed and remembered in everything that we do and every day that we have. Thomas is survived by and will be dearly missed by his children Amanda Jefferson of Charlotte, NC, Thomas Murphy Jr. of Hillsdale, NY, and Kimberly Murphy of Maybrook, NY; grandchildren Jaiden Jefferson (22 yrs old), Silas Paulsen (8 yrs old), Chelsea Dupre (4 yrs old) and Thomas Michael Murphy (1 yr old); sisters Joan Murphy-Heter, April Scott-Underwood and Randy Scott-Roberts. He is predeceased by his parents Shirley Murphy-Scott and William Frances Murphy. A memorial service will be held privately at the family's convenience.
