Marilyn A. Mangi, 85, of Poughkeepsie passed away peacefully at her home on Tuesday, June 22, 2021. Marilyn was born on August 28, 1935 in Newburgh, NY to the late Herbert and Margaret Patterson. She graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in 1953. She married Michael Mangi in St. Patrick's Church in Newburgh, NY on November 15, 1953. She worked alongside her husband at the Michael Mangi & Sons Insurance Agency, Inc. in Poughkeepsie, NY. Marilyn was an avid golfer who enjoyed the company of her friends and family. In her free time, she surrounded herself with the laughter of lifelong friends. She was also an enthusiastic member of the Red Hat Society. She was a loving mother and grandmother. Marilyn is survived by her sons: Michael Mangi, Jr., Joseph Mangi and his husband Edward Murray, Scott Mangi and her daughter, Michele Ascolese, all of Poughkeepsie, NY. She is also survived by her six grandchildren. She was predeceased by her son, Mark Mangi. Visitation will be Sunday, June 27, 2021 from 2pm to 5pm at the Wm. G. Miller and Son Funeral Home, Inc., 371 Hooker Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY 12603. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, June 28, 2021 at 10am at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Poughkeepsie, NY with internment to follow at St. Peter's Cemetery Poughkeepsie, NY.
