Robert Westfall, 74, of the villages in Florida formally of Newburgh, NY.
Entered into rest on July 28, 2021; after a long courage’s battle with cancer.
The son of the late Meredith and Violet (Rajala) Westfall, he was born in
Newburgh, NY on January 28, 1947. Robert graduated from Newburgh Free Academy in
1965 and excelled in football and track. Robert was drafted in 1966 to the US
Army 1st Air Cavalry Division during the Vietnam War. He received many medals
during his service; he also proudly served in the Army National Guard, and Air
Force National Guard. He was a member of Vietnam Veterans of America, Disabled
American Veterans, Purple Heart Society, Villages Shooters Club, and attended
St. Mark’s Church. He retired from Verizon in 2002. Survivors include his wife,
Diane Pullaro; his children Michael (Deborah) Westfall of Newburgh, NY, Erin
Westfall of Fruitland Park, FL, and Brian, Matt and Bill Pullaro; his brother
Fred Westfall of Cornwall, NY; his sister Patricia (Kevin) Crawford of Appalo
Beach, FL; his brother-in-law’s Thomas (Debra), Richard (Carol) Grant and
sister-in-law Virginia Grant and his grandchildren Michael, Ryan, Carolyn,
Christian, Sydney Westfall, Maelie, Grayson Pullaro and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife Leslie (Grant)
Westfall; his brother Steven Westfall and his father and mother-in-law Gordon
and Margaret Grant. Visitation will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Thursday, August 26
at Brooks Funeral Home, 481 Gidney Ave., Newburgh. A funeral home service will
be held Friday, August 27 at 11 a.m. with Inurnment following in Cedar Hill
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to St. Jude Children’s
