Constantine DeMeo entered into rest on Wednesday, September 8, 2021. He was 88. The son of the late Constantine and Helen (Palmerone) DeMeo, he was born in Newburgh, NY. As a young child Constantine began working on his grandparent's farm alongside his dear Uncle Horace Palmerone. Our Uncle Jr loved to tell us stories about "the farm" and he fully believed that one day he would be running the farm for the family until the NYS Thruway Authority acquired the farm. As a teenager he also worked for F&M Auto Body and Trim Shop. After he graduated Newburgh Free Academy in 1951, he enlisted in the US Navy serving our country during the Korean War from 1951-1956 on the USS Coral Sea. After his Navy service he returned home and began his career at Central Hudson Gas & Electric which lasted 55 ½ years, retiring at age 79 ½ as Chief Electrician at the Danskammer Plant. While working at Central Hudson he earned his AAS Degree. Constantine was a member of the local 320 IBEW as well as the American Legion Post 1796 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 00125. He enjoyed dining out at locally owned restaurants and most especially enjoyed socializing with the owners and staff. Our Uncle Jr loved to go to the Dutchess County Fair and their shows throughout the year. His hobbies included NASCAR and watching PBS. Uncle Jr was extremely generous to the needs of his family throughout his life, family always came first. His love for us was immeasurable, he will be greatly missed. He is survived by his brother, Joseph J. DeMeo and his wife Diane of Surf City, NJ; nephew, Christopher DeMeo of Russell, Kansas, nephew, Paul DeMeo and his wife Andrea of Newburgh, niece, Cathleen Cassel and her husband Bruce of New Windsor, nephew, Shawn DeMeo and his companion Josie Maldonado of Washingtonville, grandnieces and grandnephews: Erin and Aaron Krutchkoff, Thomas DeMeo, Jessica and Alexandre Galimberti, Gregory Cassel, Charles DeMeo, Alexander DeMeo, Joseph DeMeo and Elizabeth DeMeo; beloved extended family and cousins: Catherine DeMeo, Michael Cassel, Rosemarie Murane, Josephine McClintock, Anne Palmerone, Arthur LaValle, Mary Grace McCue, Vincent Favoriti and Edward Meddaugh; and many friends throughout his life.
