Rhoda Lee Taylor Torelli, a lifelong resident of Newburgh, NY, entered into rest due to a long illness on Sunday, September 19, 2021 at the Kaplan Residence in Newburgh. The daughter of the late Walter Taylor and Shirley Biasini, she was born on September 10, 1932 in Brooklyn, NY. Rhoda was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, class of 1951. Following graduation, she proudly served 3 years with the United States Marine Corp. Rhoda married her late husband Daniel A. Torelli on July 24, 1955 at Sacred Heart Church. They were together for almost 65 years before he passed away 15 months ago. Rhoda retired as a bank teller of Highland National Bank after years of faithful service. She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church where she volunteered her time in the Nearly New Shop and was also a member of the prayer group. Rhoda enjoyed traveling to places around the world and attending shows at West Point Eisenhower Hall. Most of all she enjoyed being around her family. Survivors include; her children Linda Valicenti and her husband Patrick of Wallkill, Daniel J. Torelli and his wife Mary Lou Carolan Torelli of Wallkill; her grandchildren Kaitlyn and Jennifer Valicenti of Wallkill, Daniel and Mary Torelli of Wallkill, Katharine Sulentich of Wallkill; her brother in-laws Tony Pizza and Nacy Root; nieces, nephews and several cousins. Rhoda was predeceased by her sister in-laws Isabelle Pizza and Patricia Root. Thank you, Dr. George, for all the years of caring for my mother. A special thanks to my mother's care taker, Yolanda for going above and beyond her standard of care. Thank you to Meals on Wheels who provided their service with care and support. Thank you to the members of the Kaplan Residence of Newburgh for showing us compassion and kindness during this grievous time of our life. Visitation will be held at Brooks Funeral Home on Friday, September 24 from 4-7pm. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 25 at 11am at Brooks Funeral Home, with a burial taking place at Cedar Hill Cemetery. - September 10, 1932- September 19, 2021
