Angelo Michetti - Class of 1942

  Angelo P. Michetti, 96, passed away on Thursday, September 30, 2021. The son of the late Gaetano and Frances (Torino) Michetti, Angelo was born in Highland Falls, NY on November 4, 1924, but grew up in Newburgh. On September 25, 1955 Angelo married Loretta (Hizen) Michetti; she predeceased him in 2005. Angelo was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and honorably served in the US Army during WWII, receiving several commendation medals. He worked for Millbrook Bread for 25 years as a delivery man, as well as being a roofer and tile layer. He loved to fish with his brother Willie and in his younger years was an avid bowler. One of his proudest accomplishments on the lanes was bowling a 298 in 1950 - his prize for that was a case of Wheaties! Angelo is survived by his daughter Mary Steele and her husband Jim, who was his primary caregiver for many years and with whom he lived. He is also survived by his daughter Frances Morrison and her husband Dave; his beloved grandson Matthew; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Angelo was predeceased by his son Michael; and siblings Rachel (Rae) Argenio, William Constantino, Anthony Constantino, Vincent Michetti, Cosmo Mitchetti, Mary Foster and Rose Lloyd. Visitation and burial will be private at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in Angelo's memory to the VA at www.VA.gov - November 4, 1924 - September 30, 2021
