Margaret McClintock Fruchter - Class of 1955

    Margaret "Margo" McClintock Fruchter, 83, of Brewster, Massachusetts, passed away on September 26, 2021. Born in Newburgh, New York in 1938, the daughter of John and Edythe (Dohrau) McClintock, she was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy and The State University of New York (SUNY) at New Paltz where she studied music history and architecture. Margo was an accomplished pianist and piano teacher for more than 50 years. She was a beloved piano teacher to many students in Newburgh, NY, and on Cape Cod, MA. After moving to Cape Cod, she taught at the Cape Cod Conservatory for 10 years. For many years, she volunteered weekly at Garrett Treasures, the Brewster Unitarian Universalist Consignment Shop. Margo was an avid reader who loved her cherished book club and was a passionate gardener. She was a past member of the Brewster Garden Club.

Married to Philip Kempler Fruchter for 63 years, they met while attending Newburgh Free Academy. Margo is also survived by her beloved daughters, Dara Fruchter of Searsmont, ME, and Rachel Fruchter Korzenik of Newton, MA, as well as her son-in law, Dr. Joshua Korzenik and grandson Nathan Korzenik. She was the sister of John McClintock, III (deceased) of Wallkill, NY, Elizabeth Dabroski of Wallkill, NY, Catherine McClintock of Brewster, MA, and Scott McClintock of Liverpool, NY. A private funeral was held on September 30, 2021.
