Charles "Chuck" McQuiston, age 63, of Walker Valley, New York, passed away unexpectedly on November 14, 2021. The oldest of four boys, Chuck was born May 11, 1958 in Newburgh, NY to the late Dorothy "Terry" and Kirk McQuiston. He graduated from Newburgh Free Academy High School in 1977. Chuck worked as a manager at VAC Service Corporation, Newburgh Auto Auction and finally IAA for the last 13 years, and was an active member of the Walker Valley Sportsman Association. Chuck touched many people during his life, both near and far. One thing he enjoyed most in life, after family, was sharing his love of the outdoors with others, something instilled in him by his beloved "Gramps" from early on. Whether it be hunting, fishing or riding his motorcycle, Chuck was always eager to share these experiences with others, and everyone loved him for it. Although he is no longer with us physically, Chuck has left behind a legacy, a mark on this world, about life and the kind of world he wanted to live in. Chuck is survived by his sons Anthony Conroy and Shay McQuiston, his daughter-in-law Elizabeth Conroy, his daughter Kaela Lynn Crisci, his grandsons Blake Conroy and Liam Moya, his nephew John Brian McQuiston, his brother Tim McQuiston, his partner Yvonne Vanutrecht, whom he referred to as "the love of my life", his step-father Richard "Rich" Hollahan and his step-mother Charlotte Ann (Welling) McQuiston. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his brothers Brian and John. Visitation will be held from 1-5 p.m on Saturday, November 20 at Brooks Funeral Home in Newburgh, NY, with a brief service at 4:30. The family is deeply touched by all of the friends Chuck made throughout his life, who have reached out to express their love for him at this most difficult time.
