Joyce Silkworth Ferlita - Class of 1962

  Joyce Silkworth Ferlita - Class of 1962 - On Tuesday November 30, 2021 Joyce gained her well deserved angel wings and joined her husband Johnny in heaven. Joyce was born on April 1, 1944 in Cornwall, New York to Melvin and Marion Silkworth. Joyce married the love of her life John Ferlita on December 7, 1968 (so he could never forget the day) they built their home together on pleasant view drive and on February 11, 1986, after praying for years, welcomed their son Michael. Joyce is pre deceased by her parents, husband & brother in law Rich Ferlita. Surviving family members include son Michael of Mt. Vernon and brother in law Frank and his wife and children of NC. A special thank you to Joyce's friend Elizabeth at golden view who for the last 4 years stood by her side. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude a charity Joyce always donated faithfully to. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, December 4th at 11am at St. Mary's Cemetery, 510 Lattintown Road, Marlboro to which family and friends are invited.

Obituary of John P. Ferlita
      John P. Ferlita, age 70 of Marlboro, NY an area resident all his life died Sunday, October 6, 2013 at Vassar Brothers Hospital, Poughkeepsie, NY. John was born October 13, 1942 in Newburgh, NY. He is the son of the late Peter N. and Grace Mary Colletto Ferlita. John married Joyce E. Silkworth on December 7, 1968. John was a United States Army Reserve veteran serving during the Vietnam War. John worked for Local 17 as a laborer for 32 years. He was a Charter Member and 4th degree Knights of Columbus. He was an avid New York Giant Fan and New York Yankee Fan. He is survived by his wife Joyce Ferlita at home, 1 son Michael J. Ferlita and girlfriend Christina DeMaio, 2 brothers, Frank Ferlita and wife Carol of North Carolina and Richard Ferlita of Wappingers Falls, several nieces, nephews and cousins. Calling hours will be Wednesday evening from 6-8pm at the DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro A mass of Christian burial will be offered on Thursday morning at 10am at St. James Church, Milton with Father Fred Kempfirl officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Marlboro. In lieu of flowers memorial donations can be made to St. Jude's Children Hospital, P.O. Box 1000, Dept. 142, Memphis, TN 38101-9908.
