Jozef (Joe) Froniewski, 64, of Gilroy, California passed away peacefully after a courageous and quiet battle with cancer on December 1, 2021 at Stanford Hospital, with his loving family by his side. He is survived by his beloved wife Marta Maloney; his daughter Laura (Tom) Turney; his son Michael Froniewski (Susette Norlander); his stepsons Sean Dinsmore, Ryan (Kristin) Dinsmore and Neal Dinsmore; his sisters Helen (Will) Adams, Maria (Bob) Riley, and Angela Dubois; sister in-law Carla Ware; grandchildren Ella and Logan Turney, Piper and Cal Dinsmore; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Janina Froniewski and his brother Stefan. Born in Newburgh, New York on January 16, 1957, Joe graduated from Newburgh Free Academy, followed by the State University of New York at Albany with a degree in Physics. Upon graduation in 1979, Joe packed up his VW Bus and headed to California to begin his tech career in Silicon Valley where he made the Bay Area his home for over 40 years. Since early childhood, Joe had a natural curiosity and remarkable talent for problem solving and science which continued throughout adulthood. This lifetime passion for physics and science eventually resulted in several U.S. Patents to his name. His career path encompassed many professional achievements, most recently as Senior Scientist for Silego Technology Inc. which was acquired by Dialog Semiconductor. Along the way Joe formed many lasting and cherished friendships, numerous spanning more than 30 years. Ever the problem solver, Joe always had a project to build or a repair to make for himself, family, or friends. He was fondly referred to as our own personal McGyver. Joe and his wife Marta filled more than a decade with nearly a lifetime of adventures, including traveling the world, hiking the Alps several times, skiing, golf and paragliding. As an accomplished paraglider he flew in Chamonix France, Grindelwald Switzerland and San Francisco California just to name a few. With a passion for golf from a young age, he became an avid lifelong golfer. Remarkably, he was enjoying the golf course three days before he passed away. Joe never stopped doing what he loved. Joe was a devoted and loving father to his children, helping them grow into the exceptional adults they are today, each with their own treasured memories: for Laura, being baptized along with her dad and for Michael, the many months rebuilding the 1972 Datsun 240z together. Tata doted on all of his grandchildren, teaching them how to make pizza and flying them around the house until they laughed heartily before being flung onto the couch. Inevitably, they would scream AGAIN !. Joe's faith was first and foremost in his life. He never wavered from God's plan which enabled him to remain steadfast and courageous during his journey over the last five years. Despite his severe medical challenges, Joe remained amazingly resilient, strong and good natured, astonishing all who knew him including his medical team. Because of his love for God and devoted support of his family, Joe had incredible grace and faith to the very end. His hearty laugh, big smile, honest, kind and gentle nature will be missed by all. The family would like to extend their gratitude to his UCSF and Stanford doctors and nurses for their continual care and encouragement. Stanford Blood Center sustained Joe over the last four months of his life, therefore, in lieu of flowers please consider a financial or blood donation in Joe's name to the Stanford Blood Center, www.Stanfordbloodcenter.org  (650) 723-7831, or a charity of your choice. A Visitation will be held 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 15, 2021 at Habing Family Funeral Home, Gilroy. A Celebration of Life luncheon will be held on January 16th, 11:30 am €“ 3:00 pm, at the Gilroy Elks Lodge located at 2765 Hecker Pass Rd, Gilroy, CA 95020.
