Frank Detz passed away suddenly at his home in Middlehope, NY on January 10, 2022. Frank was born April 9th, 1946 in Newburgh, NY and grew up in the Ducktown area of New Windsor, NY. He graduated from NFA in 1964. On February 27th, 1966 he married Lucille Scalzo, whom he started dating at 16 years old. He started his long career at IBM in Fishkill in 1964. Frank never truly retired, he had to always be busy. He then worked for many years at Kennedy Electric and Hannafords in Modena, NY where he was a customer favorite. Frank was also lifelong musician in local bands including Take 5 and Brotherhood. He then had his karaoke business Totally Kool Karaoke up until this past October. Frank was the friendliest man anyone could meet, always had a smile and jokes for everyone. He also helped anyone and everything with anything they needed. He was a voracious reader, lover of old cars, and an avid bowler for many years. When he bowled his highest game of 299 and the last pin slid and kept standing he promptly gave it the bird. He is predeceased by his parents Frank and Dorothy Detz. Frank is survived by his loving wife Lucille Detz. They were one month shy of their 56th anniversary. He is also survived by his daughter Christine Gustafson who was the apple of his eye, his son in law David Gustafson, and two grandsons Matthew and Sean Gustafson. Matthew and Sean were his whole world. He is also survived by his sisters Mary & Mike Magee, Desiree & Tom Abruscatto, brother Michael & Cathy Detz, his in-laws Frank & Jen Scalzo, Tom & Peg Scalzo, Dolores Carleton, and many nieces and nephews. In Frank's honor we would love if you would go to your radio and play some oldies or doo wop and think of him and smile. Visitation will be held Sunday, January 16 at Brooks Funeral Home from 2-5 p.m. A Mass will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, January 17 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh.  - April 9, 1946 - January 10, 2022
