Rocco Charles Trenkler, of Canandaigua age 83, was called to Heaven on Saturday January 8, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by 7 children, Toni, Tina, Melissa, Morgan, Jason, Jesse and Mathew Trenkler; and 14 grandchildren, Marlana, Savanah, Rheanna, Chaela, Kattara, Kyra, Jade, Elianna, Alia, Jace, Rose, Taegan, Kemper and Eli. He was predeceased by his grandson, Josiah Filannino. Rocco was born in Newburg, NY and was the son of Gustave and Josephine (Giametta) Trenkler. He was a graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, class of 1955. After high school, Rocco proudly served as a Special Operations Translator in the US Air Force and spoke 3 languages. He earned a bachelor's degree in Horticulture and a degree in Business Management. Rocco was a talented florist who took pride in his craft. He owned and managed several flower shops in the Hudson Valley area from 1961-2005. Rocco was a hardworking man and retired from Lowes in Poughkeepsie in 2013. After retirement, Rocco joined his youngest son and grandchildren in Canandaigua, where he enjoyed walking around Canandaigua Lake daily and making new friends. He adored his friends and cherished his relationships. Rocco will be missed by all, especially his dearest friend Mary Elizabeth "Betty" Rahill. His greatest joy came from being a father, Popper and PopPop. Rocco had a strong Christian faith and was a devoted member of St Mary Mother of the Church in Fishkill, NY and St. Mary's Church in Canandaigua. There will be no services at this time.
