Richard "Rit" Vincent Pacella Sr., 77, of Mooresville, passed away Tuesday, Jan. 18, 2022, at Lake Norman Regional Medical Center, in Mooresville. He was born Sept. 22, 1944, in Newburgh, N.Y., to the late Rocco and Mary Alfano Pacella. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Rocco Pacella, Michael Pacella, and Carl Pacella. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Lowe Pacella; children, Heather Pacella of Mooresville, Richard Pacella Jr. of Charlotte; granddaughter, Gianna Musto of Mooresville; sister, Frieda Gozza of Newburgh, N.Y.; dog, Bellarose; cat, Vincenzio; and bird, Mango. The family will receive friends Monday, Jan. 24, from 6 to 8 p.m., with a prayer service at 7 p.m., at Cavin-Cook Funeral Home. The family would like to extend their sincere appreciation to all the physicians, nurses and staff, for their unwavering compassionate and supportive care that was provided.
