Michael Cullen - Class of 1966

Michael R Cullen entered to rest on 2/10/2022 in Venice, Florida, he was 73
years old. Born on May 12, 1949 he was predeceased by his beloved parents
Raymond and Louise Cullen. Michael is survived by his wife Anna Cullen and son
Michael E. Cullen, Daughter in Law Jennifer Cullen, Granddaughter Lilianna
Cullen, and Grandson Michael J. Cullen. He is also survived by his Colandrea
Brother and Sister In laws who were loved as brothers and sisters, always there
for him throughout his life. Mark and Angel Colandrea of Newburgh, Mary
Colandrea-Decker of Modena, Joseph Colandrea of Modena, Vincent and Debbie
Colandrea of Newburgh, Louis and Monica Colandrea of Gardiner, Michael and
Elaina Colandrea of Walden, predeceased by Tony Colandrea, John Colandrea and
Violet Colandrea. In addition to several nieces, nephews and cousins too
numerous to name, who were loved and adored in the Cullen, Colandrea and Amoia
families. Michael is survived by special friends who over 40 years of friendship
became family. Kathy Kinzel and Jim Diana of Venice Florida provided a source of
friendship, comfort and support that gave meaning to what true friends do,
forever grateful for their kindness and love. Lovingly known as Captain Mike, a
Proud Irishman who loved everything irish was known for his sparkling blue eyes,
beautiful smile, and genuine kindness to all who encountered him. Michael
married the love his life Anna, spending 50 years together and bringing into
this world their devoted only son Michael E. Cullen. Michael loved spending time
with Anna and Michael with a lifetime of good memories of family time, travel
and his very favorite film and cinematic adventures with a love for beautiful
classic cars. Michael had a successful career in law enforcement with an early
beginning as a police officer in Marlboro, NY before succeeding for 25 years as
a New York State Corrections Officer also serving as the President of the
Emerald Society. Concurrently while in law enforcement, Michael made his mark in
this world as a business owner of Super Video and Super Pools in Middle hope, NY
which he spent many enjoyable years serving the community. With a heartfelt
interest in helping others, Michael had an avid love for the catholic church and
served as member of The Knights of Columbus. Truly loved by his entire family,
Michael will be deeply missed in our earthly lives. Our family has faith that he
is in the hands of god now reuniting in heaven with his parents and all those he
loved who departed before him. In our faithful hearts, we know one day we will
meet again and have been very blessed to have had him for the years we did on
this earth. We Love you and will miss you all the days of our lives. Calling
hours will be held on Thursday evening from 5pm-8pm at the DiDonato Funeral
Home, 1290 Route 9W, Marlboro. A mass of Christian burial will be offered on
Friday morning at 10am at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Newburgh. Funeral
