Anna May Malcolm - Class of 1946

    Anna May Malcolm, Age 92 (daughter of the late James Richard Malcolm & Josephine Dixon Malcolm) formerly of Newburgh, NY, passed into the arms of her loving Savior on Tuesday, November 23, 2021. She was born on August 18, 1929 in the city of Newburgh, and attended Balmville School and Newburgh Free Academy, Class of 1946. Anna relocated from New York to California, where she spent most of her life as a teacher and mother. She earned her Bachelor's degree in Education from San Francisco State University, and a Masters Degree from SUNY New Paltz. She had a love of travel and history, and integrated those two things throughout her life - exploring everywhere across the United States and beyond where possible. She had a very strong Christian faith, and was an active member of the Lutheran church for most of her life, with her most recent attendance at Tree of Life Lutheran Church in Cary, NC.

She treasured and loved her family, and was very supportive of all their endeavors and tried to always be there for them when in need. She is predeceased by her siblings James Robert Malcolm, William Edward Malcolm, John Joseph Malcolm, Charles Malcolm, and David Gregory Malcolm. She is also predeceased by her son, David. She is survived by her brother Richard Malcolm & wife Linda, her sister Joann Malcolm and daughter Christina Germano & husband Mark. She also is survived by many nieces & great nieces, nephews & great nephews, cousins, friends, along with 6 grandchildren, and 1 great grandson.

Family and friends will gather for a service to honor Anna's life, at 11am on Saturday April 9, 2022 at Hudson Valley Funeral Home 239 Quassaick Avenue New Windsor, NY. Internment of her ashes will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, New Windsor immediately following the ceremony. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Salvation Army in her name.
