Bruce Katz, 65, of Gardiner, NY passed away unexpectedly due to an accident on Thursday April 28, 2022. Born February 23, 1957, in Newburgh, NY, he was the son of the late Max and Sylvia (Amelkin) Katz. Bruce lived a life of generous service to others. As a young man, he joined the City of Newburgh Volunteer Ambulance Company as a paramedic. He served as a New York State Corrections Officer for 25 years, and was the proprietor of Homeowner Excavation Service until his passing. Bruce's primary focus was always his family. He doted upon his beloved wife, Hallie Katz (Lowe), and enjoyed trips to the beach, many weekends at their place in Pennsylvania and he especially liked going out to eat & talking with everyone he met. He was a kind, loving man who would help anyone who needed it. Bruce also loved to spend time with his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted father who deeply loved his son and daughter-in-law, Justin and Lauren, and his step-children: Trina Turner and her husband Jeremy, Chris Quinones, and Sheryl Quinones and her fiancee Daniel Simmons and his son Colin. He also selflessly devoted his time to his grandchildren, Elizabeth, Owen, Aubree and step grandsons, Nicholas Chiesa and his wife Madison, and Tomas Barrientos and his wife Erika . He enjoyed trips to South Carolina to visit his sister Judy Finucane, her husband Brian, and their children Sean Finucane and his wife Brittney, and Shannon Finucane and finance Drew. Bruce is also survived by his loving family of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and many wonderful friends that he enjoyed spending time with and who will miss his contagious laugh, vibrant personality, and genuine smile.Friends may call on Tuesday May 3, 2022, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Copeland-Hammerl Funeral Home, 162 S.
