Matthew C. Mason, of the Town of Newburgh, entered into rest on Wednesday May 4,
2022. He was 49. Son of Clarence D. and Georgia A. (Datoush) Mason, he was born
on July 4, 1972 in Cold Spring, NY. A lifelong Newburgh resident, "Matt" as he
was known to family and friends, was an Admissions Clerk at the United States
Military Academy, West Point, NY for 30 years. He also worked Saturdays at the
local Pizza Hut, waiting tables. Strong in his faith he was an active volunteer
with both Vida Nueva and Tres Dias. Matt was a member of Assembly of God Church
and Goodwill Church where he taught Sunday School. Survivors include his
parents, of the Town of Newburgh; a brother, Nicholas Mason of Brooklyn; three
sisters, Michelle Mason of the Town of Newburgh, Melissa (Dominic) Minasi of
Cornwall-on-Hudson, and Pamela Mason of the Town of Newburgh; nieces and
nephews, Erin, Isaiah, Sophia and Justin; and great nieces and nephews, Malachi,
Kayden and Tatiana. Visitation will be Monday, May 9, 2022 from 3:00 pm to 7:00
pm at White, Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank
Road, Newburgh, NY 12550, including a brief Prayer Service at 6:00 pm. A Funeral
Service will be held 10:00 am, Tuesday, May 10, 2022 at the Funeral Home with
Rev. Robert Schroder officiating. Burial will follow at Gardnertown Cemetery. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are requested to set up a future
scholarship fund for his nieces and nephews. After the burial the family will
welcome friends and family at 10 Churchill Street, Cornwall-on-Hudson, NY 12520.
