Shirley A. White, of Newburgh, entered into rest peacefully on Tuesday, May 10,
2022. She was 77. Daughter of the late Thomas J. and Josephine (Dourney) Smith,
she was born on May 16, 1944 in Newburgh, NY. Shirley was a retired medical
biller, for Woman’s Medical, Newburgh, NY. Earlier she worked for CIGNA Life
Insurance also in medical billing. She enjoyed camping and traveling with her
family. She loved her pets and watching murder mysteries. Family was paramount.
She was a parishioner of St Francis of Assisi church of Newburgh for many years.
Her collection of flamingos brought her much joy. Survivors include two
daughters, Kimberly A. (Jason) Matadobra of Walden, NY and Hilary White of McBee,
SC; a sister, Jean M. Jaczko of the Town of Newburgh; 2 grandchildren, Alina
Botsford and Zakkary Matadobra, several nieces and nephews, and close friends.
In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon L.
White in 2004 and a brother in law Stephen Jaczko in 2021. Visitation for family
and friends will be Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm at White,
Venuto and Morrill Funeral and Cremation Service, 188 N. Plank Road, Newburgh,
NY 12550. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10:30 am on Monday, May
16, 2022 at Most Precious Blood Church, 42 Walnut Street, Walden, NY 12586.
Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery, New Windsor, NY. Donations in Shirley’s
memory can be made to Darlington County Humane Society, 1705 Adoption Way,
Darlington, SC 29532.
