Samuel J. Acquaro - Class of 1938

  Samuel J. Acquaro, Sr. of Penn Brook Pines, Fla. and formerly of New Windsor, died Thursday, August 31, 2006 at V.A. Nursing Home in Penn Brook Pines, Fla. He was 86 years old. The son of the late Dominick Acquaro and Annuciata Morano, Samuel was born April 3, 1920 in New Windsor. He was a longtime resident of the area and has resided in the Penn Brook Pines, Fla. area for four years. Samuel was a diesel mechanic for Cornwall Paper Mills. Survivors include son, Samuel Acquaro, Jr. of the state of Florida; brother, Ernest Acquaro of Lancaster, S.C.; sister, Genevieve Chiarmonte of Newburgh; grandson, Eric Acquaro of New Windsor; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Madelyn Lander Acquaro. Visitation will be Monday, September 4, 2006 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral will be held at The DiDonato Funeral Home, 1290 Route 9-W, Marlboro on Tuesday, September 5, 2006 at 11 a.m. Burial will take place Tuesday, September 5, 2006 in the Woodlawn Cemetery, located in New Windsor.
