Eileen M. Hein (Hacunda), died on June 11, 2022 in Loxahatchee Groves, Florida,
after a courageous battle against cancer. Eileen was born on June 3, 1942 in
Newburgh, New York, and spent most of her life there before moving to Lake
Havasu City, Arizona. After the death of her husband, Warner P. Hein, Sr.,
Eileen moved to the State of Florida. She was 80 years old.
Eileen was the daughter of the late Joseph J. Hacunda and Eileen M. Walker. She
is survived by daughter, Jodi Lynn and her husband, Robert Lynn of Walden, NY,
son, Mark T. Evans of Birmingham, AL, and daughter, Sharon Evans Downes of
Loxahatchee Groves, FL, granddaughters, Jennifer Valastro (Newburgh, NY),
Heather Lynn (New Windsor, NY) and Sydney E. Downes (Loxahatchee Groves, FL),
and great-grandchildren, Alexander K. Macri and Arianna L. De Marco. She is also

of New Paltz, NY, Michael P. Hein, his wife, Christine, and their son, Mickey

Eileen was a certified yoga instructor and founder of Yoga Chi Studio in Lake
Havasu City, AZ, a Reiki Master, a teacher certified in the Blue Buddha of
Healing and a Minister in the Universal Spiritualist Association where she
received her Ph.D. in theology. She was also a psychic medium. Eileen worked as
a nurse's aide at St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, helping to bring newborns into
the world, and as an early pioneer of women in business, she operated a
road-side diesel truck repair company in the 1980's. She enjoyed cooking
incredible meals for her family and friends, planning camping trips each year
for her friends in Arizona, singing Broadway show tunes, painting and teaching.
She had a great sense of humor, loved improv, being in "character" and dressing
up. Her home was always open and she made all who entered it feel like family.
She was a true caregiver and an exceptional friend.
Cremation was entrusted to Edgley Cremation Services in West Palm Beach,
Florida. A service for family and friends will take place in Newburgh, New York
in September of 2022. Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one's
choice.
