John C. Dederick - Class of 1977

          John Charles Dederick Sr. Class of 1977 age 62, of Little River, South Carolina. John was born September 1, 1959 to James Henry Dederick II and Carolyn Melick Dederick in Newburgh, NY. He died on July 25th, 2022 after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by family at the home of his son John Charles Jr. and wife Patricia Adam in Little River, SC. John was a 1977 graduate from Newburgh Free Academy and enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He began his civilian career at Transkrit Corp. in Brewster, later owned the Plaza International Deli in Newburgh, and in later years worked as a medical coder. He was a die-hard New York Yankees fan as well as a Bruce, The Boss, fan. In his free time, he enjoyed nothing more than hanging out with his family and friends, sharing old memories and making new ones. John is survived by seven children, Tara, Erica, Lisa, Jeffrey (wife, Lorie), John (wife, Tricia), Bryan and Kenneth, and 20 grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters Jan Dederick, Eileen Snow, Patricia Dederick, Susan Toporowski, brothers Christopher and Paul Dederick, as well as many nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, John was predeceased by his sister Lynda Dederick and brother James Henry Dederick III.

A memorial service and celebration of life will be held from 4-6 p.m. Saturday October 8, 2022 at

It is always difficult saying goodbye to someone we love and cherish. Family and friends must say goodbye to their beloved John C Dederick of Little River, South Carolina, who passed away at the age of 62, on July 25, 2022. - September 1, 1959 - July 25, 2022
