Thomas Corbett - Class of 1967

    Thomas F. Corbett Jr. journeyed into eternal rest on August 31, 2022. Tom was a native of Newburgh, NY, but since 1973 made his home in Paola, KA. A 1967 graduate of Newburgh Free Academy, he worked at F&C Volkswagen before enlisting in the United States Army. Upon discharge he worked at Mack Truck before relocating to Kansas. There, he worked at General Motors for more than 30 years until retirement.

He loved mechanical things and always dabbled with autos. He was a big Jeep enthusiast and a longtime member of the Flatlanders Jeep Club in Kansas. His favorite times were spent off-roading in some of the most rugged and remote parts of the country.

Tom was predeceased by his son, Thomas Edward Corbett; parents, Thomas F. Corbett Sr. and Shirley Corbett-Keefer; and stepfather, Robert R. Keefer.

He is survived by his daughter-in-law, Michelle Corbett;granddaughters Meaghan (Keagan) McCellen and Kaylie Corbett; siblings John D. Corbett, James (Pat) Corbett, Kevin A. Corbett, Maryann Corbett, Jeffrey A. (Barbara) Corbett, and Shirley Ann(David) Reed; partner, Letha Brixey; Aunt Ethel Figurski; and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.
